Publishing to YouTube

Connect your YouTube channel to upload and schedule videos and Shorts from PostEverywhere.

Connecting your account​

  1. Go to the Accounts page
  2. Click Connect Account and select YouTube
  3. Sign in to your Google account and authorize PostEverywhere
  4. If you have multiple channels (including Brand Accounts), select which channel to connect
  5. You'll be redirected back and the channel will appear in your list

You can connect multiple YouTube channels, including Brand Accounts managed by the same Google account.

Content types​

Videos​

  • 1 video per upload (video is required — YouTube doesn't support text or image posts)
  • Duration: up to 12 hours
  • Videos are uploaded using a resumable upload process, so large files are handled reliably

Shorts​

  • Videos that are 60 seconds or shorter with a vertical (9:16) or square (1:1) aspect ratio are automatically detected as YouTube Shorts
  • No separate option needed — just upload a short vertical video

Platform-specific settings​

When creating a post, click the YouTube tab in platform customization to access these options:

Video title​

Required. Up to 100 characters. A character counter shows how many you've used.

Description​

Up to 5,000 characters. Use this for detailed information, links, and timestamps.

Tags​

Comma-separated tags to help with discoverability. Up to 500 characters total.

First comment​

Schedule a first comment to appear on your video immediately after upload.

Visibility​

  • Public — anyone can find and watch
  • Unlisted — only people with the link can watch
  • Private — only you can watch

Category​

Select from 15 YouTube categories including:

  • Film & Animation
  • Music
  • People & Blogs (default)
  • Comedy
  • Entertainment
  • News & Politics
  • How-to & Style
  • Education
  • Science & Technology
  • And more

Advanced settings​

Expand the advanced section for additional options:

  • Made for Kids (COPPA) — required disclosure if content is aimed at children
  • Disable comments — turn off comments on the video
  • Disable ratings — hide like/dislike counts
  • Age restriction — restrict to viewers 18+
  • Notify subscribers — send notifications to your subscribers
  • Allow embedding — let other sites embed your video

Tips​

  • Shorts (vertical videos under 60 seconds) are YouTube's fastest-growing format — great for reach
  • Add timestamps in the description to create chapters
  • Tags help with search discoverability but the title and description matter more
  • Use the first comment to pin important links or calls-to-action
