Publishing to Threads

Connect your Threads account (via Instagram) to schedule and publish text posts, images, videos, and carousels from PostEverywhere.

Connecting your account​

  1. Go to the Accounts page
  2. Click Connect Account and select Threads
  3. Sign in through your Threads/Instagram account and authorize PostEverywhere
  4. You'll be redirected back and the account will appear in your list

Requirements​

  • Threads accounts are linked to your Instagram account, but the connection is handled separately
  • Make sure you have publishing permissions enabled during authorization

Content types​

Text posts​

  • Up to 500 characters (the most restrictive platform)
  • Text-only posts are supported — Threads is a text-first platform

Images​

  • Up to 10 images per post (carousel)
  • Single image or multi-image carousel supported

Videos​

  • 1 video per post
  • Duration: 1–90 seconds

Carousels​

  • Combine multiple images into a swipeable carousel post
  • Up to 10 images per carousel

Platform-specific settings​

When creating a post, click the Threads tab in platform customization to access these options:

Text content​

Write your post with up to 500 characters. A color-coded counter warns you as you approach the limit.

Reply control​

Control who can reply to your post:

  • Everyone — anyone can reply
  • People you follow — only accounts you follow
  • Mentioned users — only people mentioned in the post

First reply​

Schedule a reply that's automatically posted as the first response to your thread. Useful for adding context or links.

Threads (multi-post)​

Create multi-post threads:

  • Write additional posts that are published as a chain
  • Each post in the thread has its own 500-character limit
  • Great for longer content that exceeds the character limit

Advanced settings​

  • Topic tag — add a topic to your post (up to 50 characters, no periods or ampersands)
  • Link preview URL — attach a link preview to text-only posts

Tips​

  • Threads has a strict 500-character limit — be concise or use the thread feature for longer content
  • Text-first posts perform well on Threads — you don't always need images
  • Use the topic tag to make your post discoverable in topic feeds
  • Hashtags work on Threads — include relevant ones in your post text
  • The first reply feature is great for adding links without affecting your main post's reach
  • Carousels (multiple images) drive engagement — great for visual stories or tips
